Where this is going

A crew member that listens to the whole boat.

Today's beta is the foundation: HAL reads your manuals, keeps the log and answers by voice. Next, HAL listens to the boat itself over NMEA 2000 — wind, depth, engine, position — cross-references weather, charts and the other HALYard boats, and starts making suggestions.

Concept screen: a logbook entry written by HAL, summarising a two-day trip from instrument data, GPS track, weather and anchor watch — The log writes itself — from the instruments, the track, the weather and the anchor watch.
